So two years ago I commissioned Paiseley (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/paiseley) for several sketches to be paid upon completion. A year passed without seeing anything, and she posted asking for commissions or donations, and I reminded her about the commission and offered to pay if she would follow up with the art. $50 and a year later nothing to show for it. So I asked for a refund. Now four or five months later I haven't seen anything for my efforts except a lot of people posting shouts to her FA page saying that they too are owed refunds or massively late commissions.

Does anyone know what the heck is up with her? Has she vanished with other peoples' and my money? I mean it has been over two freaking -years- now since I commissioned her, and months and months since asking for a refund and now there's a flood of people in the same situation as me.

Edit2: Twitter account under the same name http://twitter.com/thatgirlmitch , including tweets about buying a new car this past month. Clearly financial problems prevent giving refunds to multiple people...

Edit4: I was given her contact info and called her tonight and left a voice mail about the commission. She texted me back saying she had no idea who I was or how I got her number and never to contact her again. I texted back with details and got a "Do Not Contact Me Again" as a reply. Trash.

Dispite some heavy drama heaped on me. I believe the issue between myself and cureineko has been for the most part "resolved"

I'm getting a refund, she's moving on with her life, I'm moving on with mine.

I really did hate having to post about her here as she truely is a nice person and didn't deserve alot of the "flack" she got from a few individuals on the last posting (myself included)

If it's possible I would like to erase the previous journal about it and move on. Is that allowed?

TLDR:
If you get a request from AngelofDarkness block and ignore for your own sanity.  She will offer to pay and then turn around and give you excuses as to why she can't (and why you are ruining Christmas just for asking to be paid) and maybes turn into "you promised" because apparently requests r srs bsns. I'm apparently not even the third artist she has done this to (though the first to report ones done through PM), links are provided below. Posting because I wish I had known and was lucky to get warning just before things went sour.

Other cases like mine:

This is what I get for being nice to furries.   

NOTE: Pics in links may or may not be work safe,  None are nudes but some are down to bra and panties.

Generally, I don't believe in giving away art, and when I do it's typically  sketches.  When I'm in the mood I post journal and I usually let people give me characters and vague situations and I use them to warm up for paid stuff.  I don't like specifics or detailed characters, if I'm unhappy with something I just skip over it.  I always put a disclaimer that I do the fun ones and leave the eh ones, as I absolutely hate those overly complicated characters with zillions of piercings etc.  And good god...what some people expect out of a free request O_O  Mind boggling.

However, for Christmas I thought I'd be generous since I usually only get a few and open requests, upgrading some randomly to full  color  pieces .

Ah, but here apparently is my mistake.  You see, some furries think that free full pieces are a cue to try to screw someone.  Now, I've heard sob stories before (hell I was PMed several this round, one who thought I gipped him or something), and generally I ignore 'em, but this one takes the cake and just keeps getting better and better.

When I posted this pinup of a dog in black stockings forEdwardElric1308, not less than 5 minutes later I receive this PM from a stranger called AngelofDarkness.

( At first is not so bad...but then the insanity ensues. )

On a different note to people that like getting requests: at least watch the person, it's so rude to have someone come out of the blue demanding free art.  Also, the people that have the kinds of problems I pity don't throw them around to get free art.  They're respectable people who do their damndest to pick up whatever broken pieces are left and move on with their lives when trouble strikes. Gah.

What happened to the website

To answer this quickly, the main domain host went under and my website name had to be given back to me so I could look for a new domain host. I found godaddy today and passed the info over so the domain should transfer either tomorrow or sometime this week. I know it is a mess right now with the website being down, but I cannot do anything else but wait until they have passed all the info over.

So please be patient. Mixedcandy did not go anywhere, we are here to stay so please keep checking this work LJ for updates and twitter. Both are up and running still.

Work updates

Because of the mishaps with the website today and me running around like a chicken with her head cut off I somewhat burned a day that I was supposed to work on costumes. I wanted to finish the ear fix for a jackalope that we had delayed ( with reason, we found a secure way to add the ears now with plastic so they are very sturdy *finally*) and Damaron which still needs teeth and airbrushing. I will have both of those done this year (that sounds odd, but yes before new years there will be photos posted). I would like to offer you guys badges for the delays I have caused :), if you accept them that is.

Eventhough it is the holidays I will be taking work with me to my parents. So these holidays will be worked filled sadly. I am not trying to cry a sob story but will be taking a few day break, a real break come January after FC. I hate to work at my parents but with FC deadlines I can't waste any days. I will be taking these 3 heads with me to glue at moms. So you might see me posting some flickr updates from west palm working on these guys.

When will we open again?

We keep moving the date, but it looks like we will more than likely open February 1st 2010. Please do do not ask for quotes until the order sheet is up and we are taking quotes. Order sheet should be up for viewing late January unless other wise stated. If you have any questions be sure to email us at mixedcandyorders@gmail.com

Wait time when we open will be for a 7 month wait for a full costume. We will only open for full costumes in February 2010.

This wait will be the shortest wait we have offered in years. We will be filling August 2010 completion spots in February.

Need a repair?

We have been a bit behind on work so repairs will be pushed until end of february. So if you need a repair we will not be able to tackle it until the end of february. Sorry about that but I can't make more space when I don't have enough time to finish everything. So please be patient.


Year end recap

Thanks to everyone who ordered from us, supported us and was patient with us this year. 2009 was hectic or better yet downright insane with work. We can now boast having made over 240 costumes since we started and about that much posted for display in our galleries. We have learned a lot both work wise and what not to do to avoid the mishaps of this year. Trust me when I tell you guys how much I dislike being behind on work, I want to have normal amount of work so I can enjoy my weekends here and there. So here is to a better next year.
